Well, it might have to do with Dawn of the Ted, the collection of “bad taste bears” that became quite famous for their funny and original designs. From gore to bdsm, these bears are pretty popular among gays, daddy bears…

Still, ignorant actions of censorship should be a thing of the past, right?

Unfortunately, Teddy Bear is not the only victim. Facebook also closed Violet Blue’s page “Our Porn, Ourselves” a few weeks ago (read her reply). It worries me that Facebook, the biggest social network of the world, which is present in all young people’s lives, sets such a poor example.

Problems about sex come from ignorance and taboos, so, does solving these problems really mean calling Teddy Bear a pervert ?

Kristyan Geyr is a German photographer and film director, born in Köln where he took part in the foundation of the Fashion Fair “Bread and Butter“. He’s one of the most creative erotic filmmakers in Germany who likes to focus on urban lifestyle. He also founded the Noodles, Noodles & Noodles creative design company in the early 90s and designed with his team the famous prison-style bed made out of 100% steel: “the Jailhouse Fuck“. Kristyan produced and directed three erotic clips around the JHK: M&S, Sisters and The Visit, three films with beautiful women, light bondage, bdsm furniture, good erotic photography and trendy fetish outfits. I recently found these great mini-vids on the Agent Provocateur website.

Instead of the usual pin-up style poses that we´re all used to seeing, the models are provocative and actively using the lingerie to tease and arouse.

The tone is perfect too! Everything looks great, from the dodgy looking hotel room and bad lighting to the anonymity of each woman with her hand-held camera.

It´s nice to see a well-established company not just resting on its laurels but instead trying to use new and engaging ways to promote its lingerie.

The Australian Sex Party is a party created to pressure mainstream politics in the name of greater sexual freedom and equality. An important role if a modern country such as Australia is to maintain the progressive society that I´m sure the vast majority of its citizens want. But not only are they doing the noble job of promoting same sex marriage, the abolition of stringent censorship laws, and championing less governmental intervention into adult lives, they are also helping to bring sex out of the shadows of society.

Critics may say that their name is merely designed to shock and gain publicity for a small political party, but, regardless of the reasons, why does the word SEX always provoke such a negative reaction? I do it, you do it, and I´m sure we both enjoy it. Surely such a collective voicing and acknowledgement of this fact is the logical step for a progressive, 21st century society to take in order to be able to discuss sex in an open and mature manner. The problem is that some still hide sex away as an embarassing – even shameful – act, whereas others (mainstream porn, advertising etc) promote it in a highly immature or distorted way.

I wholeheartedly support the work of this party, especially when watching the live debate between Fiona Patten (leader of the Australian Sex Party) and Wendy Francis (Family First Party candidate for Queensland) who´s party still sings that old recognisable tune of outdated, repressive, Gospel-influenced conservatism.

No points for guessing which woman speaks calmly and intelligently, and which only manages to blurt out a beligerant discourse based on paranoia, elitism and prejudice. Why are there people that still believe that the best way to educate is through re-inforcing ignorance? Can´t they see the contradictory nature of these words!? The best way to “protect children” (to use their favorite phrase) is not to cover their eyes and ears at every opportunity!

Watching the debate I was dumbstruck by Wendy Francis´ comment that Australian marriage laws couldn´t possibly be changed because – get this – they had ¨been around forever¨. How can she expect to have even been conducting that debate if we didn’t live in a society where laws change to meet social change? Furthermore, she wouldn´t even be a political candidate if women were not continually fighting for greater social equality and she certainly wouldn´t be voting in the upcoming Australian elections if women hadn´t have fought for and won the right to vote. Hell, she wouldn´t even be talking about politics if society never changed just because certain discriminatory laws and perceptions had “been around forever”.

So, apparently women aren’t into sex as much as men.

Does it really mean that we don’t have the same carnal desires as guys just because we can control ourselves on the metro when a gorgeous guy or girl sits opposite us? I think we just express ourselves differently, not that we don’t have any desires.

Watch this hilarious trip into the mind of one man who desperately tries (and fails) to imagine a world in which women are just as horny as men. What is it that stops men from understanding that women desire sex just as much as they do? Fear? Is this the last bastion of control that men wield over us? Well, if it is, then I hope the new wave of female directors and writers is helping to raze it sooner rather than later.

Today I would like to talk about bishtraining, a website I discovered on Twitter about sex and relationships for young people.

The author is a “sex and relationships trainer, consultant, project worker, do-gooder”. He’s been a youth worker for 15 years and he’s been doing young people’s sexual health projects and advice work for nearly 10 years.

The usual porn is often the only way young people learn about sex and without the experience they often think real sex is like porn and that all women are like porn actresses. Sometimes it leads to sexism and incompatibility in couples. That’s why Bish decided to fill in the blanks and educate about what real sex is and how porn is different from what a real relationship needs.

I’ve decided to write this blog because I am sick and tired of young people not getting the sex and relationships education that they deserve. I’m putting this right here. I will post everything you need to know -Bish

In this blog there is no taboo, no transmitting of shame and it’s full of advice that can really help a teenager when he or she can’t talk to parents nor teachers.

I recently mentionned the “Real Dolls” on my twitter but I wanted to give it a deeper thought here.

This is definitely the best response to the lady who denied that sex could also be artistic in a video I posted the other day. Well, here´s the proof! This fascinating peek into the Real Doll studio shows us how founder Matt McMullen is using his sculpting skills to create these highly realistic, fully working dolls.

What gives more food for thought is the idea of a robotic RealDoll that could be programmed to move independently of its owner. According to McMullen, this is not so far out of reach. Doesn´t that blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality in a truely irresistible way?

What I like about these dolls is that they’re not interchangeable, every one of them is a piece of art. So whatever we may think of someone having a realtionship with a doll in the way that most of us reserve for real people, this is undoubtedly not only a fascinating facet  of human sex culture but also human psychology, especially as the dolls get more and more believable to both sight and touch.
