We’ve just released the Spanish edition of PORN FOR WOMEN, a book written by me, published by  Melusina and designed by Marion Donneweg. It will be in German, French and English during 2009. There’s more about the book in pornoparamujeres.com (Spanish)

I decided to write the book, amongst other things, because of this

It’s a big lesson in humility and integrity for Jessie as she juggles her relationships and her career. Will she win or will she lose? What does winning and losing mean?

Second Sexe is turning out to be one of the most interesting new sites for women. It’s a French online store, with a great Mediatheque, where you can watch their fab selection of movies. They also publish an online Magazine with very interesting articles about female sexuality, interviews, sexy traveling tips etc. (Only pity, just in French…)

And now they started to produce films! Check out the project X FEMMES, their first serie of 6 X-Plicit movies, directed by female French artists (Helena Noguerra, Arielle Dombasle, Laetitia Masson, Lola Doillon, Caroline Loeb, Mélanie Laurent).

Working in the adult industry, I’m getting less and less innocent about how things actually are. Last year I received the award of “Best Erotic Movie For Women” for my movie Five Hot Stories For Her in the Erotic E-line Awards, and I was really happy, feeling that even the mainstream adult industry liked my movie.

This year we got the award “Best Erotic Documentary” for my second film Barcelona Sex Project, however this time I don’t feel very enthusiastic since I now understand how it all works. You pay and you get the award you want, they even create special categories for films and people who don’t fit into the never ending list of awards they prepare. And the price, well depends if you are a big company you will have to buy a whole table (10 pax) at the award ceremony dinner for the price of 1700 €, and of course some advertising in their Magazine. And if you’re a small company you can get away with the amount of 400 € for your award, the price of two pax for the award ceremony.

The award ceremony is the worst show ever, horrible gas station food and tacky entertainment, mixed with people who look like they came right out of a porn mag from the 90’s. But the funniest thing is the list of awards, it goes on forever and ever and they go to everyone, most categories don’t even have nominations, just “winners”. Best cumshot scene in Germany, best gangbang in the USA, best girl-girl with pink dildos, best new pair of breasts….

I promise that I will never receive an award in this kind of festivals again, basically because I don’t plan to submit our movies ever again!

PS:  hands up to a new young producer in Germany, who told me that he got various calls from the organization saying that he could get himself a nice award if he would buy tickets for the dinner- but he turned them down and went out to an adventurous night in Berlin instead. Cool guy!

I’m back in Barcelona after a short trip to Berlin where we attended the annual Venus Fair. Venus is basically a business event for people in the erotic industry. For me it was the first time attending as last year I had my babygirl of two months with me and she was not allowed to enter (strictly 18 years). Anyway it’s not really a place for children. This year she stayed at home with her grandparents.

What most hit me at Venus was the feeling of two completely different worlds clashing together. The always sleazy porn biz with the new erotic chic. The erotic sex toy industry changed dramatically during the last five years, companies like Lelo, JimmyJane, Late Chocolate, JeJoue, BigTeazeToys, Njoy are offering a product that attracts modern women with a sense of style and design. Porn however is stuck where it has been since the 80’s and the big video invasion. For intelligent modern women there’s still almost nothing! The market is trying to fool us with amateurish products of cheesy romantic erotica, or with big budget productions with ridiculous arguments. Come on, we need more intelligent people and especially more women making porn, we need a new revolution the way it happened to sextoys!
